Annual licensing and early payment

The City requires licensing for dogs over four months living within its boundaries. Apply for a first licence through the new-licence route or use renewals for an existing dog. Update contact and sterilization details when they change.

By February 28, a spayed or neutered dog is $25 and an unsterilized dog $50. After February 28 the fees are $30 and $60. A replacement tag costs $5 at either time.

Reduced-fee evidence

To qualify for the sterilized fee, provide proof or a declaration accepted by the City. The dog must be spayed or neutered by March 31 for the reduced rate to apply to that licence year. Paying early and proving sterilization are separate conditions.

The City licence pages link service-dog, dangerous-dog and lost-dog information separately. Do not infer those rules or special categories solely from the ordinary fee table.
