Classify the repaired leak
An underground main line between meter and dwelling can receive adjustment of 100% of estimated over-consumption for up to three consecutive billing periods. The entire service line must be repaired; this category is considered once every 40 years.
Underground irrigation can also receive 100% for up to three relevant periods when the system was on, once every ten years. Valves, manifolds, spray heads and rotators are excluded. Above-ground leaks can receive 25% for two periods, once per property and owner, excluding neglect and fixture leaks.

Meet both clocks
Complete repairs within 60 days of discovery or a statement indicating excessive use. A written request confirmed by User Rates may extend that repair period. File within 120 days of the earlier City notification or resident discovery.
These deadlines are not measured from the date you decide to apply. Preserve the first notification, discovery and repair dates so staff can assess the timeline accurately.

Submit evidence and understand the charge
The form asks for owner and account information, leak type, repair date, who did the work, and descriptions. Upload an invoice, material receipt or material list plus clear photos of the repair.
Adjustments carry a $20 administrative fee and, if approved, appear on a future or amended statement. The adjustment concerns estimated extra consumption, not reimbursement of the plumber or excavation.
