Benefits and limits
LEAP provides 50 free admissions per person per year for drop-in swimming, skating, weight rooms and gymnasium programs. Registered-program discounts are 50%, up to $40, four times per person per year. Free entry to Nanaimo Art Gallery and Nanaimo Museum is also listed.
Jumpstart is a separate application and program, not money granted by a LEAP form. Do not assume a LEAP approval automatically funds sports registration through that other provider.

Who and where
Residents of Nanaimo, Lantzville and RDN Electoral Areas A, B or C can qualify. Post-secondary students are excluded by the City page. The form asks for household members and photo identification showing the current address for adults.
Proof routes include recent government income or disability assistance, federal GIS, CLBC support, child or youth in care through a worker, eligible newcomer/refugee support, or prior-year Notices of Assessment below the posted household thresholds. Newcomer/refugee qualification is only available once; later applications use tax assessments.
